I know I have already done a post on skincare BUT I wanted to give an updated one! I am using all new products so I wanted to share about them and my thoughts on them. I have a love/hate relationship with my skin since having the twins, so getting clear skin is pretty hard for me these days. My skin seems to easily get used to products and then breaks out again so this is what is currently keeping my break-outs at bay.
I like to throw in exfoliation and sheet masks in through out the week. Lately I've been using the Tula exfoliating pads(6 for $22 special). You can get a six-pack if you don't want to take the plunge with a giant box. I will say, I have NEVER had such a great exfoliation from an at-home product! Sorry for the TMI, but you can literally see the dead skin come off when using this product. Your skin will feel amazing after! After an exfoliation you should use a moisturizing sheet mask or just your regular nightly moisturizer.
I use several different sheet masks. I usually just go to the store and see what calls my name haha! Riley Rose has an amazing selection of budget friendly ($3-$5) sheet masks that I love to try out.
End of the day skincare routine:
1- Remove makeup with Banila Co. Clean It Zero. This stuff takes off a lot of your makeup including water proof makeup AND liquid lipstick.
2- I cleanse a second time with the Huxley Cleansing Gel.This will remove anything left over to give you that really clean skin. The description reads: A gentle and hypoallergenic cleanser that's formulated with Cactus Extract, this refreshing cleanser creates a rich, micro-bubble lather when in contact with water, providing your skin with a unique deep cleansing experience that softens, moisturizes, and refreshes with Huxley's signature fragrance.
3- The next step is to pat on or use a cotton pad to wipe on the Huxley Toner. So, what is a toner really? Is it even important? Without getting too far off course here, yes a toner is important! I found this article from Allure that explained it best for me. The article said that toner is a quickly absorbed liquid that helps hydrate the face and even take off some dead skin cells. The article also referred to toner as the primer for the rest of your skincare. You can read the full article here.
4- I have recently added this Tula Clearing + Tone Correcting Gel to my routine after the toner. This is for acne prone skin and since my random breakouts have started, I wanted to see if this gel really worked. So far, I really like it. It's gentle on the skin and contains 2% salicylic acid to clear up acne and prevent future breakouts.
5 - Lastly, I use the Tula moisturizer to moisturize the skin and revive the skin if it is looking dull. It's even supposed to help skin looking youthful...which I am starting to need haha!
I hope you enjoyed reading about my current skincare routine! I will have a blog post going live next week in celebration of one year of my blog being live! So crazy to think it has already been a year.
