A Summer Capsule Wardrobe (For The Casual and Feminine Girl)
I am so excited to share all of this content with you guys. I got the idea to do a capsule wardrobe for the more minimalist woman and also the woman on a budget who only wants to get a few pieces each season. I think you can still look and feel trendy without overbuying. The key here is to buy more simple and versatile pieces but we will get into that in a minute!
First of all, what exactly is a capsule wardrobe?
Don't feel bad if you didn't already know because I just learned what it meant too haha! A capsule wardrobe is the practice of editing your wardrobe down to your favorite clothes (clothes that fit your lifestyle + body right now), remixing them regularly, and shopping less often and more intentionally. I stole that definition but it's perfectly said. Once you get your capsule wardrobe down, feel free to purge your closet so well that even Marie Kondo would be shook...yes, I said shook. If your clothes to donate are in usable condition, please donate them to a local thrift store, charity, or you could sell them to ThredUP or on Poshmark. Clothes that are NOT in donate/sell condition, you can take to H&M. Yes, that's right...H&M. You can read about their garment collecting initiative HERE. If you bring in your unwanted clothes to H&M, not only are you keeping the clothing from ending up in a landfill, but you will also receive a 15% off coupon to put toward your next purchase. That's what we call a win win win situation haha :)
One last thing before we get into it! I plan on doing another capsule wardrobe with more of a "cool girl" NYC vibe so hopefully you can relate to one category of style and draw inspiration from it! The second capsule wardrobe with include bike shorts, graphic t-shirts, blazers, a leather jacket and gold jewelry. So, keep your eye out for that!
OK, so here we go!
* I apologize for picture quality. I will have better quality pictures next time *
I love an over-sized t-shirt and have been wearing them regularly! There is nothing more comfortable than an over-sized t-shirt, bike shorts, and a denim jacket with sneakers. You can wear this t-shirt (pictured) so many different ways and even dress it up with a blazer and heels.
A classic white button up is a MUST have. Goes with anything and can be styled and worn any time of the year. It can be worn casually with denim shorts or even dressed up for the office.
This black $8 tank top is so incredibly soft and great to wear day-to-day running errands or even just around the house. It's also great for layering.
This chiffon maxi from h&m is stunning in person. I feel like the belt and sandals make it casual or you could dress it up with a hat. This dress would also work with my white sneakers and also pairs well with a denim jacket. I would have tried that outfit on for a picture but my brain was fried after all the try-ons and I forgot haha!
I have had this white tank top for several months and wear it at least once a week. You can't beat the $8 price tag and goes with just about everything. This top also comes in several other colors.
I love this ASOS floral puff sleeve dress. The buttons go all the way up the dress so you can button up or unbutton as many as you'd like. It also has ties on the arms and around the waist for a cinched waist. This dress could also be paired with sneakers. I love the look of a feminine dress being paired with sneakers or boots.
I hope you enjoyed these outfits and could draw some inspiration from some of them! I've been really inspired to keep the capsule wardrobe into fall so let me know if this is something you would like to see more of.
As always, thank you so much for your support!!
